Sink Maintenance

1. When using a sink for the first time after renovation, drain the water for 5-10 minutes to remove any rust from the pipes. Wipe the sink surface clean with a soft cloth. It's best to test the water 2-3 times every other day to ensure that all rust is removed.
2. Require the contractor to wrap the sink in a plastic bag after installation. Do not remove the plastic bag until the renovation is complete.
3. Avoid prolonged contact between soft iron, hard objects, or rusted items in the sink. Do not use strong acids or alkalis to clean items in the sink. Clean the sink thoroughly and dry it with a rag after each use.
4. If loose rust appears on the sink surface, immediately wipe it with talcum powder, rust remover, or 300# sandpaper. (Use talcum powder to remove rust spots: put a small handful of talcum powder in a dry sink and wipe the rusted area with a clean, soft rag); (Use rust removal water to remove rust spots: use a clean, soft rag to dip a small amount of rust removal water and gently wipe the rusted area); (use 300# sandpaper to fold a small corner and wipe the rusted area).
